Privacy Policy

Ripe keeps your focus sessions, seeds and windowsill on your own phone, and we can't see them. The app only goes online to buy, restore or check Ripe Pro, and the data involved in that is described under "Ripe Pro purchases" below.
Who we are
Ripe is made by Brightsmilesolutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15838955). Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. For privacy questions, email support@getripeapp.com.
What the app stores, and where
The app saves your focus sessions, Berry's progress, your seeds, your garden items and your settings. All of it stays in the app's storage on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. There is no account and no sign-in.
Ripe Pro purchases
Ripe Pro is optional, and two companies are involved in it.
Google Play, or the App Store on iPhone, takes the payment if you buy Pro. We never see or store your card or bank details. The store shares order details with us, such as the order number, the product, the price and your country, so we can handle renewals, refunds and our accounts.
RevenueCat, a company in the United States, checks purchases for us. When your phone is online, the app asks RevenueCat whether you have Pro and loads its prices, and it tells RevenueCat when you buy or restore Pro. RevenueCat receives:
- a random ID the app creates for this purpose, rather than your name or your Google or Apple account
- your Ripe Pro purchase history, if you have one: the product, price, currency, purchase and renewal dates, and the store's purchase token or receipt
- your device's language and currency settings, and technical details needed to check the purchase, such as the app version and your phone's operating system version
Like any online service, RevenueCat's servers also see your device's IP address when the app connects.
We use this data only to show Pro's prices, confirm your purchase, unlock Pro, restore it on a new phone, and handle renewals, cancellations and refunds. Our lawful bases are that it's needed to provide the app and what you bought, and our legal duty to keep financial records.
RevenueCat processes this data for us under a data processing agreement and stores it in the United States. Transfers from the UK and EU are covered by the EU standard contractual clauses and the UK addendum to them.
We keep purchase records while you have Pro, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires. If you've never bought Pro, RevenueCat's record holds only the random ID and technical details, and we'll delete it if you ask.
What we never collect
- No name, email address, phone number or contacts
- No location
- No advertising ID, and no ads
- No analytics or tracking of how you use the app, and no crash reporting
- No photos, microphone or camera access
Permissions
- Notifications: to tell you when a focus round ends. You can turn this off in the app or in your phone's settings.
- Vibration: for gentle haptic feedback, which you can switch off in Settings.
- Internet: only to buy, restore and check Ripe Pro. Everything else works offline.
Backups
If you have phone backups turned on, Android or iOS may include Ripe's data in your backup to your own Google or Apple account. Those backups are handled by Google or Apple under their privacy policies; we can't access them.
Store statistics
Google Play and the App Store may show us anonymous, aggregated statistics such as download counts and crash rates. They collect this under their own privacy policies, and it doesn't identify you.
If you contact us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We keep that conversation for up to 12 months, then delete it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
Children
Ripe is suitable for all ages. Apart from the Ripe Pro data above, which uses a random ID rather than a name, the app collects no personal data from anyone, including children. Purchases on a child's account follow the purchase approval settings in Google Play or Apple's Ask to Buy. If a child emails us, we only use the message to reply and won't keep it longer than needed.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your focus data stays on your device until you delete it. To delete it, open Settings and tap Delete all my data, or uninstall the app. If you bought Ripe Pro and want your purchase records deleted, email us with your order number. We'll delete them at RevenueCat, except what we must keep for our accounts.
Security
App data stays inside the app's private storage, which other apps can't read. Purchase data travels to the store and RevenueCat over encrypted connections.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. For the app, the only personal data involved is the Ripe Pro data held by RevenueCat, described above. For that data, or for emails you've sent us, write to support@getripeapp.com and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Ripe handles data differently, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top.
